Chloe Waddell gained her Bachelor of Visual Arts with
Honours from Sydney College of the Arts in 2005. In 2008, she co-founded
Breathing Colours Gallery – a multi disciplinary exhibition and retail space
with a focus on contemporary jewellery. A move to Melbourne in 2011 saw her
concentrating on her own artistic practice again and she became a regular
stallholder at Melbourne’s many arts and crafts markets including a weekly
position at the Rose Street Artist Market. Chloe returned to Sydney at the
start of 2014 to take up the position of Jewellery Technical Officer at Sydney
College of the Arts. She moved to Brisbane at the start of 2015 to welcome her
daughter Rho into the world and after a year’s maternity leave is excited to
spend 2016 making lots of great art and jewellery.
Since graduating from SCA, Chloe has regularly exhibited in
both group and solo exhibitions. As well as her technical teaching at SCA, she
has also taught jewellery classes to both adults and children at community
college and independent art schools; and since the start of 2011, Chloe has
been a committee member of the NSW arm of Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of
Australia, first as secretary, then treasurer.
